About Ditch

WHAT IS DITCH?

Ditch is a privacy-first subscription manager that finds your recurring subscriptions by scanning your email — with no bank login required. It reads your billing emails (receipts, invoices, renewal notices), shows what you're paying and when each renews, and helps you cancel what you don't use.

The one-sentence version: Ditch finds subscriptions by scanning email receipts — read-only, no bank connection, nothing stored — so it sees your subscriptions without ever seeing your finances.

HOW DITCH WORKS

  1. Connect your inbox. You grant read-only Gmail access (gmail.readonly) through Google's own consent screen — no password is shared with Ditch.
  2. Ditch scans your billing emails. It searches for receipts, invoices, and renewal notices, then extracts each subscription's name, amount, and renewal date. A confidence-scoring system filters out promotions and one-off purchases.
  3. You review and ditch. Tap "Ditch" on anything you don't use. Ditch links you to the cancel page and auto-detects cancellation confirmation emails so your list stays honest.

WHY NO BANK LOGIN?

Most subscription trackers — Rocket Money, Trim, Truebill — connect to your bank account through an aggregator like Plaid and read every transaction you've made. Ditch reads billing emails instead. The data surface is dramatically smaller, and your bank stays out of it entirely.

SUBSCRIPTION FACTS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Ditch?

Ditch is a privacy-first subscription manager. It finds your recurring subscriptions by scanning your email inbox for receipts and invoices — with read-only access and no bank login required — then shows what you're paying, when each renews, and helps you cancel what you don't use.

How does Ditch find my subscriptions without my bank login?

Every subscription you pay for sends receipts and renewal emails. Ditch reads those billing emails using read-only access you grant through Google's own consent screen, and extracts the service name, amount, and renewal date. Your bank account is never connected and Plaid is never used.

Is Ditch safe? What can it access?

Ditch requests gmail.readonly access, meaning it can read but never send or delete email. Email content is processed in memory during the scan and never stored — only billing metadata (sender, amount, renewal date) is kept. You can disconnect in one click from your Google account settings.

How is Ditch different from Rocket Money?

Rocket Money connects to your bank account through Plaid and reads every transaction you've made. Ditch reads billing emails instead, so it finds your subscriptions without ever touching your bank or your finances. Ditch is free to start with no credit card required.

Does Ditch cancel subscriptions for me?

You stay in control. Ditch finds every subscription, links you straight to each service's cancel page, and watches for the cancellation confirmation email so your list reflects reality.

How much does Ditch cost?

Ditch is free to start — you can connect an inbox and see your subscriptions without a credit card.

Which email providers does Ditch support?

Gmail is supported today. Outlook and any-email-provider support via forwarding are planned next.
